The Will of God

Happy Thursday! Thank you for your prayers and love this week. I have been strengthened and encouraged at critical times and I know it's the intercession and prayers of the saints that have carried me.

I am reminded of the story of Joshua and the Israelites defeating the Amalekites in Exodus 17:

Now Amalek came and fought with Israel in Rephidim. And Moses said to Joshua, “Choose us some men and go out, fight with Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in my hand.” So Joshua did as Moses said to him, and fought with Amalek. And Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. And so it was, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. But Moses’ hands became heavy; so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. And Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. So Joshua defeated Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword. Then the LORD said to Moses, “Write this for a memorial in the book and recount it in the hearing of Joshua, that I will utterly blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.” And Moses built an altar and called its name, The-LORD-Is-My-Banner. (v. 8-15)

When Moses didn't have the strength to lift up his own hands, his friends and co-laborers in the battle came to his aid and gave their support and the battle was won!

I was reading Pamela's blog the other day and loved this poem. Hers is one I wish I could force (with love and a smile of course!) everyone to follow, but since I can't, I just pilfer material occasionally. Be blessed today as you are a blessing to me.

The Will of God

The will of God will never take you
Where the grace of God cannot keep you
Where the arms of God cannot support you
Where the riches of God cannot supply your needs
Where the power of God cannot endow you.

The will of God will never take you
Where the Spirit of God cannot work through you
Where the wisdom of God cannot teach you
Where the army of God cannot protect you
Where the hands of God cannot mold you.

The will of God will never take you
Where the love of God cannot enfold you
Where the mercies of God cannot sustain you
Where the peace of God cannot calm your fears
Where the authority of God cannot overrule for you.

The will of God will never take you
Where the comfort of God cannot dry your tears
Where the Word of God cannot feed you
Where the miracles of God cannot be done for you
Where the omnipresence of God cannot find you.

Everything happens for a purpose
We may not see the wisdom of it all now,
but trust and believe in the Lord
that everything is for the best.
